1mm and 2mm Based Sets

Rectangular sets are offered as 1mm based sets:
Rectangular 1mm Based sets are the most common Metric gage block sets.  1mm based means that most of
the blocks in the set contain sizes that start close to 1mm in thickness.  For example a set may contain the
following sizes:

      9 Blocks 1.001 thru 1.009mm in Steps of .001mm
      9 Blocks 1.01 thru 1.09mm in Steps of .01mm
      9 Blocks 1.1 thru 1.9mm in Steps of .1mm
      9 Blocks 1mm thru 9mm in Steps of 1.0mm
      9 Blocks 10mm thru 90mm in Steps of 10.0mm

     28 of the 45 sizes in the set are 1mm plus a decimal fraction of a millimeter in length.  


Square sets are offered as 2mm based sets:
2mm Based sets are Metric sets that contain blocks that start close to 2mm in thickness.  Below is the 2mm
based equivalent of the set listed in the above example:

      9 Blocks 2.001 thru 2.009mm in Steps of .001mm
      9 Blocks 2.01 thru 2.09mm in Steps of .01mm
      9 Blocks 2.1 thru 2.9mm in Steps of .1mm
      9 Blocks 1mm thru 9mm in Steps of 1.0mm
      9 Blocks 10mm thru 90mm in Steps of 10.0mm

     28 of the 45 sizes in the set are 2mm plus a decimal fraction of a millimeter in length. 

Square style metric sets are only offered as 2mm base sets because of the larger surface area of the blocks.
