Calibration and Reference blocks are used primarily with an autocollimator for
precise optical angle measurements. The gaging surfaces of these angle blocks are
1 inch wide by 2 inches in length. The beam widths of many common autocollimators
are approximately 2-inches or 50mm in diameter. This gives the largest target for the
autocollimator without having any of the surface of the block outside the field of view.
This insures the most accurate measurement possible.

Our Reference Grade angle blocks are made from our croblox® material. This material is:
1) very resistant to corrosion.
2) is harder than steel and more resistant to scratches, and
3) is extremely stable.
Our Calibration Grade angle blocks are made from hardened tool steel for better economy.
